Location: Newark, New Jersey, USA

Salary: USD 65,000–103,000 per year, with additional opportunities for up to USD 7,000 annually in performance-based pay.

What you will do

• Create, adapt, internalize, and prepare lesson plans aligned with the academic curriculum.
• Use student data to teach academic skills responsively and monitor progress toward learning objectives.
• Build supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Maintain classroom routines and apply effective classroom management techniques.
• Support diagnostic and progress-monitoring assessments and maintain student performance trackers.
• Participate in school, department, parent meetings, events, and activities.

Requirements

• Subject matter expertise in high school English language arts.
• Track record of success and exceptional student achievement in the classroom.
• Interest in working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
• Valid New Jersey teaching certification, or eligibility through the stated GPA and Praxis requirements.
• For degrees awarded after September 2016: GPA of at least 3.0, or GPA of 2.75–3.0 with required Praxis exams passed with a superscore at least 10% above the passing score. For degrees awarded before September 2016: GPA of at least 2.75.
