Senior Business Systems Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States; 3-day hybrid schedule onsite in the Farmington Hills office

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end analysis of complex business processes, systems, and data to identify improvements and recommend solutions.
• Develop business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, workflows, data mappings, procedures, and system controls.
• Analyze high-level issues, perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot problems, and guide effective solutions.
• Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and cases, leading system and user acceptance testing.
• Act as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and insurance industry experts.
• Drive adoption of new tools and methodologies, monitor KPIs, mentor analysts, and deliver training for new or updated systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of professional business analysis experience, including leadership of complex enterprise-level projects.
• Advanced proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, SQL, testing tools, and data analysis software such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Expertise in process modeling, data mapping, system integrations, data-driven decision-making, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
• Business processes must comply with applicable regulatory and legal requirements.

Nice to have

• CBAP or PMI-PBA certification.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, especially SAFe.
