TL;DR
Operations Project Manager 1 (Manufacturing): Coordinating manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and project management activities to deliver modular industrial systems on schedule and within budget with an accent on production planning, work-order control, material readiness, and shop-floor scheduling. Focus on balancing manufacturing workloads, monitoring labor budgets and project performance, controlling revisions and rework, and coordinating vendors and subcontractors.

Location: Houston, TX (TAS-AIRPORT); onsite, full-time

What you will do

  • Develop production and project execution plans to meet delivery schedules and manage multiple projects.
  • Coordinate Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, and Production Planning.
  • Review drawings, specifications, bills of material, work orders, and material availability before and during manufacturing.
  • Plan labor forecasts and manufacturing strategies, balance shop workloads, and monitor production resources.
  • Track and report manufacturing and project progress, including labor budgets, ETC/EAC, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate vendors and subcontractors, expedite materials, manage rework documentation, and facilitate revision control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or qualifying military leadership or technical experience in lieu of the degree.
  • 3–5 years of experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer, Operations Manager, or in a related role within heavy or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with fabrication, welding, assembly, labor budgets, ETC/EAC, bills of material, work orders, and MRP systems.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and high proficiency in blueprint reading and P&ID interpretation.
  • Experience with Lean or other waste-elimination processes and ISO 9001 or another quality management system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Primavera or Microsoft Project; overtime and some weekend work are required.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
