Licensed Optician - Assistant Manager (Optical Retail)

Location: 790 South Arlington Road, Akron, OH 44312, United States. Full-time, onsite store-based position.

What you will do

• Drive and monitor profit, sales, and performance goals while overseeing operating costs, budgets, and resources.
• Optimize the eyeglass department for efficiency, quality, and compliance with company policies.
• Supervise, motivate, and coach Opticians, contact lens sales associates, and receptionists where applicable.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure associates meet service and quality standards.
• Execute merchandising, marketing initiatives, pricing promotions, and brand standards.
• Support staffing forecasts, recruiting, selection, retention, and mentoring of Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.

Requirements

• Maintain an optical license as required by the state.
• Optical sales experience; supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach, and build strong associate relationships.
• Understanding of store operations, financial reports, organizational planning, and problem-solving.
• Strong written and oral communication and exceptional customer service skills.
• ABO and NCLE certification.
