Commercial Lines Underwriter / Renewal Underwriter (Commercial P&C)

Location: Hybrid position based in the Lawrenceville, GA; Charlotte, NC; or Tampa, FL office, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Travel up to 5% required.

What you will do

• Evaluate, underwrite, price, and negotiate assigned commercial insurance accounts.
• Manage a portfolio of renewal accounts in line with the renewal framework and risk appetite.
• Analyze risk factors and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Build and maintain relationships with agency partners to support account acquisition and retention.
• Meet underwriting performance metrics for new and renewal accounts.
• Maintain thorough underwriting documentation and use underwriting tools to support risk assessment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of underwriting experience in commercial or middle-market insurance.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Strong attention to detail and interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective partnerships with internal teams and external agency customers.
