EH&S Specialist (Chemical Compliance)

Location: Trecate (NO), Italy; on-site role with a regular 38-hour workweek

Salary: Starting from €45,000 per annum, plus a performance-related bonus and yearly welfare plan

What you will do

• Monitor national and international chemical regulations, including REACH, CLP, SDS, BPR, PIC, POPs, RoHS, Dual Use, and precursor legislation.
• Review technical documentation and Safety Data Sheets, including chemical classification and labeling.
• Support product compliance, regulatory notifications, submissions, inspections, audits, and requests from competent authorities.
• Conduct chemical risk assessments, identify hazardous-substance accident scenarios, and define preventive and protective measures.
• Contribute to major accident risk assessments using HAZOP, What-If Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and related methodologies.
• Maintain the Safety Management System, support emergency preparedness and response, and deliver internal training across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a Seveso establishment governed by Legislative Decree 105/2015.
• Strong knowledge of chemical regulations, especially REACH and CLP.
• Solid understanding of chemistry and toxicology.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and document management skills, with the ability to collaborate across Quality, Production, Process, Maintenance, Procurement, R&D, and Supply Chain.
• Good command of technical English, written and spoken.
