AI Engineering Manager

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; US-based leadership role

Salary: $102,600–$193,425 per year, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of real-time data serving infrastructure, including serving layers, search indexes, and online feature delivery.
• Lead the architecture and delivery of agentic interfaces, LLM orchestration, dialogue management, context handling, and session continuity.
• Own customer insight modeling and machine learning pipelines for anomaly detection and connected-home usage patterns.
• Drive reliability, scalability, observability, drift detection, confidence scoring, and production rollback readiness for AI systems.
• Coordinate delivery dependencies across architecture, product, AI/ML operations, and Video Intelligence teams.
• Manage and develop distributed engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, sprint delivery, and leadership reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering leadership or management.
• Production-scale experience with real-time serving infrastructure, low-latency APIs, feature stores, embedding indexes, model serving, or online scoring layers.
• Experience building or leading LLM-powered or agentic systems, including conversational AI, LLM orchestration, RAG, or dialogue management.
• Strong production-quality Python, system design, code review, automated testing, API reliability, and observability skills.
• Experience managing distributed engineering teams across geographies and employment models; ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty certification.
• Experience in IoT, smart home, consumer devices, occupancy modeling, event-sequence pipelines, or behavioral data.
• Familiarity with OpenSearch, pgvector, A/B experimentation, feature flags, ArgoCD, CI/CD, and gradual ML model traffic ramping.
