Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering (AI)

Location: Pleasanton, California, United States; hybrid Flex Work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $209,600–$314,400 USD for the primary location; additional US locations: $174,800–$314,400 USD. The role may also be eligible for a bonus or commission and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of AI agent engineers.
• Drive timely delivery and technical excellence for production-grade AI agent solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders.
• Partner with architects and principal engineers to integrate AI agents with the hirify.global platform.
• Evaluate and integrate LLMs, RAG patterns, and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph.
• Establish testing, monitoring, feedback, privacy, security, compliance, scalability, and reliability practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering leadership experience managing direct reports, with a focus on cloud-based systems and product-facing AI/ML applications.
• 10+ years of professional experience in software design and development for mission-critical, enterprise-scale systems.
• 2+ years directing teams focused on LLMs, generative AI application design, or advanced AI orchestration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, RAG, multi-agent frameworks, and vector databases, plus experience with API integration, token utilization, and system responsiveness.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, hiring, and team-retention skills, with a commitment to secure and governed AI.

• Experience with the hirify.global platform.
• Experience collaborating with external vendors and open-source communities.
