Personal Lines Underwriting Internship - Summer 2027 (Insurance)

Location: Forest, Virginia, United States

Salary: $20 per hour; returning interns may qualify for a higher rate and a bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Learn insurance coverages, contracts, company policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements.
• Make underwriting decisions based on policy guidelines and risk information.
• Analyze loss experience, financial conditions, and the physical characteristics of risks.
• Build working knowledge of supporting underwriting functions.
• Communicate with independent agents and internal employees verbally and in writing.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Currently enrolled in college and entering the junior or senior year.
• Ability to organize data, multitask, and make independent decisions.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
