Electrical & Automation Manager (Industrial Automation)

Location: Del Rey, California, USA; full-time, on-site plant role. Occasional regional travel and off-shift, weekend, on-call, and emergency support may be required.

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, schedule, train, and manage the electrical and controls team.
• Own plant support for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, power distribution, safety circuits, and supervisory systems.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting for electrical, automation, industrial networking, and controls failures.
• Lead control-system lifecycle management, obsolete-platform migrations, equipment integration, startups, and line upgrades.
• Support plant data and digital initiatives involving historians, MES, SQL-connected systems, reporting tools, and machine-level integration.
• Manage reliability actions, capital improvements, contractors, integrators, and vendors while ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and plant-standard compliance.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience supporting industrial manufacturing systems in a production environment.
• Leadership experience managing electrical, automation, controls, or reliability teams in manufacturing.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms, industrial networks, HMI/SCADA systems, drives, motion control, instrumentation, and electrical control systems.
• Knowledge of SQL databases, historian systems, MES platforms, data integration, electrical schematics, P&IDs, AutoCAD, and electrical design documentation.
• Working knowledge of LOTO, arc-flash requirements, machine safety, reliability methods, root-cause analysis, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, industrial technology, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience with B&R automation systems, OPC communications, JSON, APIs, web services, industrial data platforms, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Food and beverage, CPG, high-speed manufacturing, packaging, or processing experience.
• Experience leading capital projects, equipment upgrades, or plant modernization initiatives.
