Salary: $49,996.80–$290,004.00 per year

What you will do
- Manage machine shop resources, including tools, equipment, and materials.
- Design, fabricate, and assemble custom equipment and apparatus for research and development.
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot ultra-high vacuum systems.
- Develop specialized laboratory equipment, including optical instruments, microelectronic manufacturing systems, and X-ray-related components.
- Construct, install, maintain, modify, and upgrade advanced piping systems and existing equipment, including systems for toxic-gas environments.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop custom research apparatus.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant experience as a master machinist.
- Experience designing, fabricating, and building custom apparatus for scientific research.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, as well as traditional machining techniques.
- Experience with vacuum systems, precision instrumentation, or specialized laboratory equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a technical, research-driven environment.
