Line Mechanic C - Afternoons (Manufacturing)

Location: Lakewood, New Jersey, USA; onsite full-time role

Salary: $36.94–$38.69 per hour, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, set up, and change over packaging machinery and related production-line equipment.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns, identify persistent problems, determine root causes, and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
• Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance while minimizing downtime and improving line efficiency.
• Maintain daily line logs, submit SAP work orders, and document equipment repairs and replacements.
• Train and develop operators, line technicians, and line leaders on packaging equipment operation and changeovers.
• Follow GMPs, JSAs, SOPs, PPE requirements, hazardous-chemical procedures, and all safety policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant vocational or technical training.
• At least two years of technical education and/or experience as a packaging line mechanic in food, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills and full knowledge of required hand tools.
• Knowledge of PLCs, electrical and sensor technology, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine-shop skills.
• Ability to operate and maintain at least two packaging line types without retraining, including Dental, AP/DEO, Nair, Household, Display, or Aerosol lines.
• Working knowledge of FDA and GMP regulations, computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to train production personnel.

• Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or 5S practices.
