Buyer/Planner (Aerospace & Defense)

What you will do

• Manage direct and indirect purchasing, alternative supplier sourcing, and delivery of materials and services.
• Create and manage supplier requests for quotations, purchase orders, and supply Kanbans.
• Assess supplier capability, sourcing risks, supplier selection, development, negotiations, scheduling, and purchase order follow-up.
• Plan procurement activities in ERP/MRP systems and resolve supplier delivery or performance conflicts.
• Represent procurement in new product proposals with Proposal Engineers and Development Engineering.
• Ensure purchasing, storage, transportation, and procurement documentation comply with applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of tactical purchasing or related experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Understanding of continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices, and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and related government procurement documentation requirements.
• Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project, with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and travel as needed up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience with low-volume R&D procurement and low- to medium-volume production procurement.
