Maintenance Technician - Machinist (12 Hour Nights) (Manufacturing)

Location: Marion, North Carolina, United States; 12-hour night shifts

Salary: $52,800–$72,600 annually

What you will do

• Serve as the technical lead for the Central Maintenance machine shop and assist machinists, planners, and supervisors with daily operations.
• Set up and operate standard, horizontal, and CNC milling machines, standard and CNC lathes, and ID/OD and tool-cutting grinders.
• Machine parts to blueprint tolerances and fabricate components for maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of production equipment.
• Use precision measuring instruments and gauges to verify part accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, drawing, material, and equipment issues.
• Maintain shop equipment, perform preventive maintenance, keep the work area aligned with the 6S program, and train registered apprentices.

Requirements

• At least five years of machining experience or a two-year machinist degree is preferred.
• Experience operating both CNC and manual machine-shop equipment.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, G-code, G-Zero, Mastercam, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to use machinist measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, and precision gauges.
• Ability to design and build work-holding fixtures for one-off and specialty parts.
• Must be authorized to work for an employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding movements is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with HAAS, MATSUURA, FEDAL, or DAEWOO equipment.
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience.
