Service Desk Technician (Enterprise Hardware)

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, United States. Full-time, Sunday through Thursday, 9:00–5:30. Some travel may be required.

Salary: $30 per hour typical base salary.

What you will do

• Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshoot enterprise hardware, firmware, operating systems, and applications.
• Read and interpret enterprise log files, run diagnostics, and complete BIOS and Flash ROM updates.
• Identify root causes and produce detailed test and failure analysis reports.
• Maintain customer tickets, process replacement parts or systems, and support engineering teams.
• Own the customer experience and provide feedback and guidance to drive service improvements.

Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of server architecture and components, including CPUs, power supplies, memory, graphics cards, and flash memory.
• At least 2 years of experience in enterprise hardware testing, break-fix work, and upgrades.
• At least 2 years of experience in an IT remote support environment.
• Ability to use Linux- and Windows-based diagnostic and test programs.
• Networking experience with cabling, switches, fiber, port configurations, and VLANs.
• Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or Electronics; technical school certification; or equivalent experience. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, use protective equipment, and stand or walk for extended periods is required.
