Billing Associate (Collections)

Location: Wheeling, West Virginia, USA; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: $17.02–$23.46 per hour

What you will do

• Monitor and collect outstanding invoices through follow-up with partners and clients.
• Prepare and revise monthly client reminder statements.
• Produce accounts receivable analyses, DSO, bad debt reserve, KPI, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc reports.
• Estimate projected collections, provide rolling updates, and meet client deadlines.
• Monitor payment arrangements and research unapplied payments.
• Support write-offs, attorney transitions, inactive matter closures, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or advanced degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 2 years of hands-on collections experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Advanced proficiency with pivot tables and complex spreadsheet analysis.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, time-management, and task-prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage high task volumes, meet deadlines, and work with personnel at all levels.
• Availability for Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. first shift and hybrid work in Wheeling, WV.

Nice to have

• Experience with ARCS, Star Collect, Aderant, Elite, or other legal billing systems.
• Collections experience in a law firm environment.
