Collections Analyst (Accounting)

Location: Hybrid, with the compensation range applying across offices in Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Massachusetts. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary: $53,500–$80,000 per year, depending on geography, education, experience, skills, and responsibilities.

What you will do

• Manage collection operations and review complex collection activities for major accounts.
• Analyze large engagements and aged work-in-process balances to support timely billing.
• Develop and implement record-keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures for billing, payment processing, and collections.
• Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, recommending corrective procedures.
• Coordinate accounting policies, practices, and procedures with managers, firm officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, and the public.
• Contact credit sources, complete credit packages and client financial-status reviews, and notify partners about delinquent payments.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in collections, professional services, or a similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• Analytical ability to identify variances, research financial activity, explain findings, and improve accounting processes.
• Proficiency with financial accounting and reporting systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work hours exceeding the standard 40-hour work week when required for this exempt position.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Accounts receivable experience.
• Experience in the collections department of a professional services firm.
• Bilingual Japanese and English or Chinese and English may qualify for an exception to the standard sponsorship requirement.
