Senior Mechanic (Hydrogen Systems)

Location: Hydrogen Plant, St. Gabriel, Louisiana, United States. Full-time, onsite position.

Pay rate: $27.50–$40.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrolyzers, compressors, cryogenic turbo expanders, process pumps, valves, and other mechanical systems.
• Conduct inspections, lubrication, alignment checks, filter replacements, component replacements, and valve repairs or rebuilds.
• Respond to equipment malfunctions and support on-call troubleshooting during off-hours to minimize downtime.
• Execute work orders and planned maintenance activities in a CMMS such as Maximo, Emaint, or SAP, maintaining accurate records.
• Follow Process Safety Management procedures and non-routine work permit requirements.
• Maintain the repair area and inventory, support housekeeping, and occasionally travel to vendor shops or other Plug facilities for outages or commissioning activities.

Requirements

• At least three years of relevant industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in process plants, oil and gas, chemical, or related industries.
• An associate or vocational degree in mechanical maintenance, or two additional years of relevant industrial mechanical maintenance experience in lieu of the degree.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting compressors, pumps, rotating equipment, valves, and cryogenic systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, maintenance documentation, and OEM manuals.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance practices for mechanical systems, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced plant environment.
