Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Location: On-site 5 days a week at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, United States

Salary: $49,996.80–$290,004.00 per year

What you will do

• Design and secure system and network architectures spanning multiple enclaves and classification levels.
• Create and maintain security authorization documentation aligned with DoD and federal cybersecurity policies.
• Guide teams through the Risk Management Framework accreditation lifecycle.
• Assess open-source, GOTS, and COTS software for security risks and integration viability.
• Use vulnerability management platforms and automated scanning tools to identify risks and drive mitigations.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and government stakeholders to secure cloud-based big data systems, trust boundaries, and interconnection agreements.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph are required.
• 9+ years of experience as an ISSE on large-scale, multi-tiered programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience with a master’s degree or high school diploma.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking fundamentals, and enterprise architectures.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance with Security+, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC certification.
• Experience with DISA STIGs/SRGs, system hardening, RMF packages, POA&Ms, eMASS, and security scanning tools.

Nice to have

• CISSP-ISSEP certification.
