Information Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid work model in Folsom, California, or Phoenix, Arizona, United States, with time split between an assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

What you will do

• Configure, manage, and operate vulnerability scanning, application scanning, security patching, asset discovery, and exposure management platforms.
• Analyze external attack surfaces, attack paths, exploitability, and high-risk exposures, then support tactical remediation and containment.
• Validate security controls across enterprise systems, infrastructure, applications, virtual machines, and cloud environments.
• Evaluate threat hirify.globalligence, emulate adversary tactics and techniques, and recommend remediation for vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
• Support vulnerability assessments of AI systems, including scans, findings documentation, remediation tracking, and identification of security gaps in models and datasets.
• Develop and support defensive or offensive AI agents and security solutions within an Agile DevOps environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or another science or engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in information security operations, vulnerability management, and/or service delivery.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment, identification, remediation, security configuration, auditing, and automation.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux administration, operating systems, system patching, networking, scripting, cloud security, and DevOps or CI/CD environments.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, vulnerability-hunting, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model from an assigned hirify.global site in Folsom, California, or Phoenix, Arizona.

Nice to have

• Experience with adversary emulation, network, web application, and cloud penetration testing.
• Experience with Windows, PowerShell, Active Directory, Entra ID, Linux, Python, C#, Ruby, JavaScript, Bash, Go, Azure, GCP, AWS, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AI, LLMs, and AI agents.
• Agile and Scrum experience, plus recognized information security or offensive security certifications.
