Location: Newark, New Jersey, USA

Salary: $65,000–$103,000 per year, based on experience and certification, with additional opportunities for up to $7,000 annually in performance-based pay.

What you will do

• Create, internalize, modify, and prepare lesson plans aligned with the academic curriculum.
• Teach responsively to mastery using student performance and assessment data.
• Build supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Maintain effective classroom management and establish clear expectations.
• Support diagnostic and progress-monitoring testing, update student trackers, and adjust teaching strategies.
• Participate in grade-level, departmental, parent, school, and community events.

Requirements

• Track record of success and exceptional student achievement in the classroom.
• Subject-matter expertise and a demonstrated interest in working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
• Valid New Jersey teaching certification, or eligibility through the stated GPA and Praxis requirements.
• For graduates after September 2016: a conferred bachelor's or master's degree GPA of at least 3.0, or a GPA between 2.75 and 3.0 with required Praxis exams passed with a super-score at least 10% above the passing score.
• For graduates before September 2016: a conferred bachelor's or master's degree GPA of at least 2.75.
