DBT Investment Lead Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work environment with remote and onsite work. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $110,000–$158,500 per year, plus eligibility for a competitive incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain dbt data models in Snowflake, implementing business logic and following data standards.
• Manage dbt projects, including code quality, documentation, modular design, and scalable development patterns.
• Design, build, and administer data pipelines and data warehouses supporting reporting, analytics, and operational use cases.
• Improve data quality, resiliency, controls, efficiency, monitoring, and outage response.
• Partner with platform, data, and integration architects to finalize the unified investment data model and deploy platform components.
• Integrate transformation, validation, orchestration, ingestion, and delivery tools across the unified data platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5–6+ years of experience designing and building complex data-oriented applications.
• 2–4+ years of progressive SQL experience, including advanced SQL.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining dbt models, with experience in ETL/ELT, data warehouses, analytics architecture, and design principles.
• Experience with cloud PaaS platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Google GCP, or Amazon AWS, plus strong knowledge of Agile SDLC, DevOps, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with financial services data, including financial instruments, transactions, positions, and cross-team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Asset management and investment data experience across multi-asset platforms.
• Knowledge of traditional and alternative asset classes and related financial products.
• Certifications in Snowflake, dbt, cloud data engineering, data warehousing, or financial markets.
• Interest in AI technologies and experience using AI-assisted development, automation, or data engineering practices.
