Industrial Maintenance Technician (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Michael Angelo's, 200 Michael Angelo Way, Austin, TX 78728, USA. Onsite AM shift from 4:00am to 1:30pm, 6–7 days per week, with schedule flexibility based on production needs.

Pay range: $30.00–$33.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery, electrical systems, piping, gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and facility structures.
• Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment to reduce downtime and maintain reliable production.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, equipment setups, and production changeovers.
• Use tools, testing equipment, blueprints, schematics, manuals, OEM specifications, and precision measuring instruments.
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and records.
• Follow GMPs, food safety requirements, PPE standards, Lockout/Tagout procedures, USDA regulations, and FDA requirements while working with production, engineering, quality, sanitation, vendors, and plant leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, work orders, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of maintenance tools, safe operating procedures, computerized maintenance management systems, ERP systems, and SAP.
• Ability to work independently, move throughout production areas, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds.

Nice to have

• Vocational trade school certification or equivalent electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance training.
• Basic Arc, TIG, or MIG welding skills.
• Experience in high-volume food manufacturing, frozen food production, or food processing equipment.
• Experience with ovens, fryers, freezers, coolers, batch cooking systems, and high-speed packaging equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, downtime tracking, SOPs, continuous improvement, and manufacturing performance metrics.
