Senior Fire Protection Engineer (10+ Years)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; office-based full-time role. Travel is required at an estimated 20%.

What you will do

• Analyze existing fire protection systems and design new suppression, fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems.
• Perform building, fire, and life safety code analysis and interpretation.
• Deliver fire and life safety consulting services for new construction and existing facilities across varied building types and occupancies.
• Manage internal projects, external client needs, and day-to-day client communications.
• Develop proposals, support business development, and review resumes and qualifications for pursuits.
• Conduct research, document findings, perform peer reviews, and coordinate with owners, architects, multidisciplinary teams, and authorities having jurisdiction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Fire Protection Engineering license by examination issued by a state in the United States.
• At least 10 years of experience in the fire protection profession and consulting engineering.
• Experience with fire protection system design and building and life safety code consulting.
• Strong written, verbal, and oral presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively on a high-functioning team.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-rise, residential, mission-critical, higher-education, assembly, industrial, high-piled storage, or healthcare projects.
• Participation in professional organizations such as SFPE or NFPA.
