What you will do

• Perform life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design, and performance-based fire engineering under the direction of a professional engineer or experienced consultant.
• Develop plans, specifications, inspection reports, and other technical documentation.
• Conduct building code, egress, fire detection, alarm, smoke control, sprinkler, and water supply reviews.
• Perform engineering calculations, including hydraulic calculations, egress sizing, allowable building area, water supply, and smoke control equipment calculations.
• Assist with field investigations, inspections, design checks, and resolution of design problems.
• Communicate with project teams, clients, project managers, and project leaders through progress reports and technical discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil, Architectural, or a related engineering field.
• 0–3 years of experience; recent graduates and early-career engineers are eligible.
• Effective written and oral communication skills for reports, correspondence, presentations, manuals, and client communication.
• Problem-solving, reasoning, and self-starter skills.
• Interest in advancing the science of safety and delivering high-quality client service.
