Fire Protection EIT

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, USA; onsite and office-based. Travel to other locations within Alaska is required as needed for client and project work.

What you will do

• Design and document fire suppression, fire detection and alarm, and smoke control systems.
• Prepare fire protection design requirements for engineering reports and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and senior engineers across multiple projects.
• Provide construction support, review submittals, and conduct acceptance testing.
• Conduct site visits across Alaska to review facilities and project progress.
• Support project planning, execution, client meetings, and technical communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in fire protection, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passed the FE exam and eligible to apply for EIT certification through the Alaska State Board of Registration; working toward PE licensure.
• At least two years of experience in fire protection engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations, plus experience with fire protection design software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel within Alaska using a company or personal vehicle for business.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit 3D.
