Fire Operations Oversight Consultant (Fire Safety/Nuclear Cleanup): Reviewing fire safety programs, conducting assessments, supporting training, and overseeing fire operations in the Hanford environmental remediation program with an accent on compliance, emergency response, and safety oversight. Focus on conducting fire program reviews, supporting regulated nuclear cleanup activities, and coordinating on-site operations at the Hanford Field Office.

Location: Richland, Washington, United States; predominantly on-site at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site, with some remote support possible only as approved.

What you will do

  • Review fire safety programs and conduct fire program compliance assessments.
  • Support fire safety training and emergency response activities.
  • Provide fire operations oversight for commissioning, deactivation and decommissioning, and environmental remediation.
  • Support construction compliance, work inspections, and engineering oversight across multidisciplinary activities.
  • Assist with program and project management support for Hanford Field Office operations.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in fire safety oversight.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science or related experience.
  • Knowledge of fire safety codes, emergency response, and program review.
  • Vigilance, risk awareness, leadership, communication, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work at or near the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.
  • Facility clearance is required; DOE clearance may be required for classified work.

Nice to have

  • Environmental Management sector experience.
  • Experience supporting the U.S. Department of Energy or DOE Environmental Management programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, data analytics tools, and Visio.
