Drywall Estimator

Location: Santa Ana, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 annual salary

Construction company delivering projects that require detailed estimating, subcontractor coordination, and cost management.

What you will do

• Review project plans, requirements, specifications, bid forms, and quote letters.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, conceptual estimates, materials pricing, labor costs, and equipment costs.
• Coordinate subcontractor solicitations, job walks, bid lists, drawings, and preliminary quote reviews.
• Compile competitive trade bids and participate in bid-day submissions.
• Submit material requisitions, perform post-bid buyouts when applicable, and maintain bidding and work schedules.
• Support jobsite staff after bid award and supervise or train estimating staff when applicable.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of project engineering or related experience.
• Experience with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, and purchasing accounting.
• Ability to read and understand construction specifications and drawings.
• Knowledge of construction costs and principles, with accurate judgment and calculation skills.
• Drafting and computer skills; engineering design and project management experience are desirable.
