What you will do

  • Coordinate and monitor daily construction activities across multiple active projects and school campuses.
  • Act as a liaison among clients, contractors, design teams, campus representatives, school staff, and the public.
  • Monitor designer and contractor performance, construction progress, schedules, and project coordination.
  • Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, field conditions, progress reports, and non-conformance issues.
  • Support preconstruction, progress meetings, scheduling, quantity tracking, punch lists, permitting, inspections, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate utilities, local agencies, third-party consultants, vendors, and specialty contractors, while mentoring project managers and assistant project managers.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of construction management or similar experience on commercial, institutional, or K-12 educational projects.
  • Experience with construction scheduling, construction administration, and field coordination.
  • Experience working on occupied and operational campuses or facilities, preferably as an owner’s representative.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred; other bachelor’s degrees may be accepted with relevant design or construction experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, client relationship, and public-facing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction or project management software platforms.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the City of Austin permitting and inspection process.
  • Experience coordinating with Austin Energy, Austin Water, Austin Transportation and Public Works, or Texas Gas Service.
  • Experience supporting K-12 bond programs, campus improvements, or public-sector capital projects.
  • Registered Architect, PE, DBIA, or CCM certification.
