Electrical Engineer with OCONUS Travel (Data Centers)

Location: Sterling, VA, United States; in office. Requires willingness to support up to 25–30% OCONUS travel.

What you will do

• Support multiple CONUS and OCONUS electrical systems through data analysis, reporting, and engineering assessments.
• Oversee functionality and provide engineering analysis for a mission-critical OCONUS facility.
• Calculate power requirements for new and existing facilities and assess expansion capabilities and inefficiencies.
• Develop standard operating procedures, sequences of operations, electrical one-line diagrams, control wiring diagrams, and coordination studies.
• Review construction blueprints, drawings, and submittals while maintaining project documentation and technical reports.
• Diagnose electrical equipment issues and develop preventative or predictive maintenance plans.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph are required.
• At least five years of electrical engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited ABET university in Electrical Engineering or another STEM-related field.
• In-depth knowledge of medium- and low-voltage substations, UPS systems, generators, automatic transfer switches, VFDs, and electrical distribution.
• Experience with data center electrical best practices, monitoring systems, equipment sourcing, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret and design electrical diagrams and review construction documentation.

Nice to have

• Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer certification.
• Knowledge of mechanical cooling systems, building monitoring systems, and fire safety and security systems used in data centers.
• Experience with computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD.
