Electrical Engineer II

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; the position is also stated to be based in the St. Louis, MO office.

Salary: $120,000–$155,000 annually, plus a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop conceptual and detailed medium- and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, and special systems designs.
• Create power, grounding, and lighting plans, single-line diagrams, and panel schedules in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Specify electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, and panels.
• Prepare short-circuit, ampacity, voltage-drop, load studies, and utility service size estimates.
• Support BIM modeling, coordinate designs with A/E teams and other disciplines, and review vendor shop drawings.
• Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing contractor submittals and RFIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of applicable experience and working knowledge of the electrical construction industry.
• Ability to work with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable building codes.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Completion of the FE exam.
• Experience with short-circuit current evaluation and arc-flash analysis.
• Knowledge of ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
