Lead Analyst, Health Plan Data & Strategy (Healthcare Analytics)

Location: West Los Angeles, California, USA; hybrid schedule with in-office work required Monday-Wednesday and remote work available Thursday-Friday.

Salary: $110,000-$125,000 annually, with a possible discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Manage, analyze, and report medical and pharmacy claims to identify cost drivers, utilization trends, and benefit optimization opportunities.
• Develop healthcare cost forecasts, budgets, trend analyses, and scenario-planning models.
• Evaluate benefit design, clinical programs, vendors, and partnerships using financial, clinical, operational, member-experience, and ROI metrics.
• Build benchmarking and performance-reporting frameworks for health plan sustainability and competitiveness.
• Prepare clear insights and recommendations for senior executives and support Chief Medical Officer updates on material trends.
• Lead cross-functional projects and identify opportunities to use on-site health centers to improve outcomes and reduce external claims costs.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of healthcare data analytics experience in a health plan setting; experience with self-funded plans is strongly preferred.
• Experience in data analytics, financial modeling, and analysis of large, complex healthcare datasets.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with SQL and healthcare reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SSRS.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently, collaborate across functions, and communicate with business leaders.
• Knowledge of HR software applications; UKG and PlanSource experience is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and discretion with confidential matters are required.
