Medicare Stars Senior Analytics Consultant (Healthcare)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Base pay: $84,400–$152,300 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the analytics strategy for evaluating internal and external initiatives within the Medicare Stars program.
• Develop analyses using pharmacy claims, clinical outcomes, and Stars quality measures.
• Build frameworks, reports, and dashboards to monitor internal and external vendor performance.
• Apply advanced analytics techniques to investigate root causes and generate actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, clinical, customer experience, product development, operations, and Stars leadership stakeholders.
• Support decisions related to program enhancements, pilots, new initiatives, affordability, and enterprise value.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with 4 years, PhD with 2 years, or 10 years of relevant experience in healthcare services, statistical analysis, insurance economics, or a related field.
• Highly proficient in querying internal and external data sources to produce meaningful insights.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages.
• Ability to create dynamic dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or comparable data visualization tools.
• Experience leading analytical initiatives, communicating findings, presenting to senior leadership, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with version control and collaboration tools such as GitHub; ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with project management methodologies and automation tools such as Alteryx or Airflow.
• Healthcare industry experience in payer, provider, pharmacy, public health, or epidemiology settings.
• Knowledge of the CMS Star Rating System, including HEDIS, Pharmacy, Administrative, and CAHPS measures.
• Experience with medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility, and customer experience data.
• Strong leadership, project management, interpersonal, and customer service skills in a matrix environment.
