Product Application Specialist (Mining & Oil & Gas)

Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with customer visits and field investigations across Canada and occasional international travel

Salary: CAD 95,000–115,000 annually, based on experience

What you will do

• Provide engineering consulting and technical support for hirify.global products and system solutions used in mining and oil & gas applications.
• Evaluate and recommend couplings, valves, fittings, catalog components, and valve actuation systems.
• Support customers, engineers, contractors, code officials, installers, and sales teams through consultations, troubleshooting, site visits, and field investigations.
• Conduct product inspections and root-cause investigations, then prepare technical reports and corrective-action recommendations.
• Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and educational seminars for employees, distributors, engineers, and customers.
• Collaborate with product, manufacturing, marketing, and leadership teams on product improvements and customer opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience, with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems and industrial mining and/or oil & gas applications.
• Knowledge of ASME, AWWA, CSA, ASTM, API, CRNs, and other applicable industry codes and standards.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, technical standards, and regulatory requirements while working independently with global cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver’s license, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel up to 30% domestically with occasional international travel.

Nice to have

• P.Eng. designation or a degree in Mining Engineering.
• Experience with oil sands, dewatering, tailings, industrial process systems, field investigations, or root-cause analysis.
• Familiarity with valve actuation systems, industrial controls, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Experience delivering technical training and working in global cross-functional engineering teams.
