Location: Onsite in Amherst, Virginia, USA

Salary: $75,800–$141,700, $83,400–$155,900, or $90,900–$170,100 annually depending on U.S. labor-cost zone; eligible for incentive plans.

What you will do

  • Lead the plant HSE strategy, team, committee, training, communications, and safety culture transformation.
  • Drive programs that reduce at-risk conditions, employee injuries, environmental incidents, spills, and regulatory violations.
  • Conduct onsite HSE assessments, identify non-compliant conditions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage the HSE Management System and coordinate compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, Department of Labor, state, and local requirements.
  • Develop and lead the Zero Waste to Landfill strategy and other environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, regulatory reporting, workers’ compensation support, and HSE input for capital projects and new equipment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of HSE experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulatory management and experience interpreting OSHA, EPA, NFPA, Department of Labor, and state regulatory documents.
  • Experience supporting or leading a state-mandated workers’ compensation program.
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis for complex systems and programs and execute multiple priorities autonomously.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED trainer certification and experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, SMED, or similar manufacturing improvement methods.
