Senior Electrical Engineer - PCB Designer (Robotics)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA; onsite five days a week

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Own end-to-end PCB and PCBA design in Altium Designer, including circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, stackup definition, layout, documentation, and release packages.
• Design four-or-more-layer boards with controlled-impedance routing, high-speed interfaces, differential pairs, mixed-signal layouts, length matching, and appropriate via strategies.
• Apply signal integrity, power integrity, EMI, grounding, shielding, return-path, and decoupling practices.
• Support board bring-up, debugging, validation, and iterative improvements with firmware and controls teams.
• Work with manufacturing partners on DFM, DFA, DFT, panelization, test strategy, assembly, and production issue resolution.
• Coordinate pre-compliance testing and formal certification with external laboratories, including FCC and UL testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing production hardware PCBAs.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer schematic, layout, and release workflows.
• Strong knowledge of multilayer PCB design, high-speed interfaces, mixed-signal layout, grounding, return paths, decoupling, and EMI/EMC fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, validation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with some or all of microcontrollers, motor-control hardware, CAN, Ethernet, and NFC/RFID.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, fabrication and assembly vendors, and FCC, CE, IEC, or UL standards.
