TL;DR
Electrical Engineer, Early Career (PCB) (space robotics and avionics hardware): Designing, building, and testing board-level electrical hardware for spacecraft, robotic systems, and space defense programs with an accent on schematic capture, PCB layout, fabrication, bring-up, and debugging. Focus on taking PCBAs through the full hardware lifecycle, solving board-level failures to root cause, and integrating hardware with mechanical, firmware, software, and manufacturing systems.

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite. Travel to test sites including Mojave and the greater Los Angeles area is expected.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year, plus potential equity.

hirify.global is a vertically integrated space and defense company developing hardware for low-Earth-orbit missions, including satellite buses, in-orbit servicing robotics, and mission systems.

What you will do

  • Design schematics and PCB layouts for spacecraft and robotic systems.
  • Take PCBAs from design release through fabrication, assembly, board bring-up, and testing.
  • Debug board-level electrical hardware and identify root causes.
  • Integrate electrical hardware with mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams.
  • Support hardware testing, failure investigations, and design iterations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on PCB design experience using Altium or a similar ECAD tool.
  • Experience taking at least one PCB from schematic and layout through fabrication, bring-up, and test.
  • Hands-on PCBA debugging experience with standard laboratory equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly, and design for manufacturability.
  • Strong fundamentals in board-level electrical design.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States; the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. space technology export-control requirements, including ITAR eligibility or authorization.
