Assembly Repair Technician (Seals)

What you will do

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and assemble rotating-equipment seals using repair packets, routers, work orders, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Inspect returned materials, evaluate wear and component condition, and determine whether seals and parts are repairable.
• Complete inspection forms, photograph critical components, and document assembly condition using precision inspection equipment.
• Perform simple shop operations on drill presses, tool post grinders, bead blast polishers, and lapping machines.
• Verify bills of materials, drawings, repair parts, specifications, pricing, and repair operations; initiate purchase orders when vendors are involved.
• Maintain repair records and seal-part inventory, assist newer repair personnel, and consult with Engineering, Sales, and customers as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform inspection and repair operations.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and optical flats.
• Experience in a warehouse environment is helpful.

Nice to have

• Experience with mechanical seals.
• Experience reading blueprints.
