Manager, Talent Recruitment – Brooklyn Selection

Location: New York, NY, USA; at least three days per week at the Central Office in downtown Manhattan, with frequent travel to Brooklyn schools

Salary: USD 107,100–126,000 per year; typical starting compensation is approximately USD 110,300

What you will do

• Lead recruitment strategy and hiring execution across Brooklyn for instructional, operations, and specialized support roles.
• Partner with principals, regional leaders, and operations stakeholders to understand hiring needs, staffing risks, and recruitment priorities.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Talent Recruiters through feedback, performance management, and professional development.
• Advise stakeholders on candidate quality, hiring timelines, selection decisions, and complex hiring situations.
• Monitor recruitment data and improve regional hiring systems, processes, workflows, and interview practices.
• Provide hiring coverage during vacancies, leaves, and periods of peak recruitment demand.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5–6 years of relevant experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, human resources, people operations, school leadership, operations leadership, or a related field.
• Experience managing hiring processes and partnering with multiple stakeholders to achieve hiring goals.
• Experience coaching, developing, or leading others through direct management, project leadership, or informal leadership.
• Strong project management, organization, communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using data to monitor progress, identify trends, inform decisions, improve processes, and solve problems.

Nice to have

• Experience managing recruiters or talent acquisition professionals.
• Experience supporting instructional, operations, or school-based hiring.
• Experience in education, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organizations.
