Immediate ESE Learning Specialist (High School)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, USA; onsite during high school staff hours of 6:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday

Salary: $50,000 starting annual salary. Additional stipends may be available for eligible staff with Florida Department of Education certification.

What you will do

• Ensure compliance with students’ Individual Education Plans and support progress toward IEP goals.
• Provide push-in support and co-teach in general education classrooms using accommodations and differentiated instruction.
• Deliver pull-out small-group instruction for targeted intervention and skill development.
• Teach learning strategies focused on academic skills, IEP progress, and postsecondary readiness.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and support the Response to Intervention process with school staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, students, and families while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility for ESE K–12 certification.
• At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven record of high achievement in the classroom.
• Commitment to racial and educational equity, high expectations, growth mindset, teamwork, trust, joy, and sustainability.
• Successful completion of the legally required Florida background screening.

Nice to have

• Florida Reading Endorsement or reading competency coursework in progress.
• Additional K–6 or subject-area certifications.
• Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven record of high achievement.
