SoC Development Engineer (ASIC/SoC)

Salary: $91,000–$134,500 CAD per year

What you will do

• Design and verify functional units, subsystems, SoC IP, and full-chip designs.
• Develop and simulate RTL for SoCs using industry-standard methodologies.
• Collaborate on microarchitecture, verification strategy, logic design, and system simulation based on system requirements and customer feature requests.
• Create and review test and execution plans for semiconductor products.
• Apply verification methods including UVM, firmware co-simulation, and formal property verification.
• Execute the ASIC/SoC design flow from synthesis through place and route, timing, power analysis, and manufacturing-ready database preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with digital logic design and implementation in advanced technology nodes.
• Functional verification experience, including UVM or formal property verification.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and project execution skills.
• Knowledge of C, C++, Python, Java, Verilog or VHDL, and/or SystemVerilog.
• Ability to identify risks, manage competing priorities, and communicate recommendations to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have

• 1+ years of ASIC/SoC development experience, including co-op or internship experience.
• Experience with synthesis, DFT, STA, UPF, ECO flows, and low-power design techniques.
• Working knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, DDR, or ARM standards.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project-management tools.
• Familiarity with big-box emulation platforms and advanced-degree study.
