Financial Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid role with three days per week in a Guardian office in Bethlehem, PA; Hudson Yards, NYC; Holmdel, NJ; Pittsfield, MA; or Boston, MA, and two days working from home.

Salary: $86,210–$141,635 per year, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Analyze business performance, emerging risks, strategic opportunities, and unit cost trends across Operations, Service, Claims, and Transformation.
• Support senior leadership with financial analysis, business planning, operational insights, and recommendations.
• Build and maintain business cases for Claims and Service initiatives, including investments, transformation efforts, and operating model changes.
• Quantify cost savings, productivity improvements, ROI, payback periods, and other value drivers.
• Track business case commitments, value capture, variances, risks, dependencies, and sustained benefits.
• Develop executive-ready materials and translate complex financial and operational information into actionable insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, expense management, or operational analytics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyze variances across actuals, plans, forecasts, and prior periods and connect financial data with operational drivers.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance or financial services.
• Familiarity with unit cost, productivity, volume, complexity, and claims metrics.
• Experience with transformation initiatives, value capture, or business case development.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools.
