Solar Field Service Technician (Surry, VA)

Location: Spring Grove, VA, United States; field work at remote solar plants and on-call availability, including weekends or after-hours situations.

Salary: $22.00–$31.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform supervised maintenance and servicing of solar equipment across multiple solar plants.
• Conduct basic testing, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of solar parts and equipment using monitoring programs.
• Follow safe work practices, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for energized systems.
• Respond to on-call requests and assist with emergency equipment repairs.
• Operate and care for company vehicles, equipment, tooling, and property.
• Prepare accurate work documentation and collaborate on process and technology improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Training or experience in a mechanical/electrical environment, with basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installations, testing equipment, computer operation, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Ability to obtain NFPA 70E Safety Training certification and remain current with safety and technical training.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work at remote outdoor locations in extreme weather, lift 50 pounds or more, and work on-call. A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required.
