High School Math + Science Teachers

Location: New Orleans, LA, USA; full-time, 100% on-site. Regular Monday–Friday hours, with occasional evening and weekend work as required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned math and science instruction using high-quality instructional materials.
• Plan and adapt lessons, assessments, questions, models, exemplars, and activities to build conceptual understanding and fluency.
• Use daily work, interim assessments, and state assessment data to reteach, extend learning, and plan targeted instruction.
• Differentiate instruction for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, advanced learners, newcomers, and students with IEP or 504 plans.
• Build a safe, joyful, culturally sustaining classroom with consistent restorative behavior systems and social-emotional learning.
• Communicate with students and families, participate in IEP/504 and EL meetings, and collaborate in professional learning communities and data meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
• Commitment to KIPP New Orleans Schools’ mission, vision, and core beliefs.
• Successful completion of professional reference checks, identity and work authorization verification, a state background check, and teaching experience verification.
• Ability to meet classroom and campus duties, including standing, circulating, emergency response, and safely lifting or moving up to 30 pounds.

Nice to have

• At least two years of teaching experience in urban, open-enrollment schools.
• Demonstrated success improving student achievement outcomes.
• State-issued teaching credential.
