Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer - Rotoflow

hirify.global is an industrial gases company whose Rotoflow business designs and manufactures cryogenic and warm-gas centrifugal turbomachinery, aftermarket equipment, and engineered solutions.

What you will do

• Execute mechanical design tasks for awarded projects, product development, aftermarket activities, and engineering studies.
• Perform turbomachinery analyses, including finite element analysis, hand calculations, and rotordynamic evaluations.
• Select components and materials, review manufacturing drawings, and verify engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams on equipment design, integration, safety, operability, and reliability.
• Support proposals, root cause analyses, troubleshooting, commissioning, testing, and field activities.
• Develop standardized products, engineering tools, work processes, and design practices that improve quality, productivity, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience designing turbomachinery or rotating equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, materials, stress analysis, thermodynamics, and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, continuous improvement, and customer-focused engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with compressors, pumps, expanders, bearings, sealing systems, or similar rotating equipment.
• Experience with FEA tools, engineering simulation software, rotordynamic analysis, 2D CAD, or 3D modeling.
• Experience with equipment startup, commissioning, testing, plant integration, or manufacturing processes.
• Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, C#, VB, or similar languages.
• Advanced degree or specialized coursework in turbomachinery, rotordynamics, fluid film bearings, mechanical design, or manufacturing.
