Maintenance Technician (Automated Equipment)

Location: Weighbridge Rd, Shirebrook, Mansfield, UK. Full-time onsite role with a 4-on/4-off rotating days and nights shift pattern.

What you will do

• Provide site-based engineering support to maximise uptime and performance of automated equipment.
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyors, sorters, shuttles, robotics, and related systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults, respond to breakdowns in real time, and prioritise issues by operational impact.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, controls activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate CMMS records and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the shift engineering team, senior engineers, and leaders to solve problems and share knowledge.

Requirements

• Recognised engineering qualification, such as an apprenticeship, ONC, or equivalent.
• Experience working with automated or production-based systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of control systems, including PLCs.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership of issues through to resolution, and the ability to make fast decisions in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to deliver consistent, high-standard work in a time-critical setting.
