Maintenance Engineer (Food Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Hounslow, United Kingdom; continental shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends.

DO & CO operates a luxury airline catering and gourmet entertainment business with a food production facility.

What you will do

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and safely rectify mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Support line optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet operational targets.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and downtime records in the CMMS system.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.

Requirements

• Time-served Engineer or equivalent qualification, such as HNC, HND, or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled engineering.
• Experience in a fast-moving, semi-automated manufacturing environment, preferably food, beverage, or FMCG.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical fault finding, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of DAF plant operations and gas safety certification.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Nice to have

• 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification for electrically biased candidates.
