Senior Advana Developer (Data Engineering)

Location: Pax River, Maryland, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $155,000–$205,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data ingestion, transformation, integration, and validation pipelines.
• Acquire and operationalize data from authoritative and mission-critical sources within the enterprise data environment.
• Assess source schemas, profile data, define mappings and transformations, and validate data quality and lineage.
• Collaborate with data stewards, source system owners, architects, engineers, and governance teams to resolve access and integration issues.
• Validate governance artifacts, metadata, access controls, security requirements, and data-handling rules.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines, communicate blockers and risks, and implement reusable automation patterns to improve reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Advana, War Data Platform, and/or Jupiter, including platform architecture, integration, governance, and development workflows.
• Strong experience building scalable ingestion, transformation, integration, and validation pipelines for complex data sources.
• Experience with schema mapping, metadata, lineage, data quality, authoritative source integration, access controls, and governance requirements.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical, engineering, mathematical, data, or related field.
• At least five years of DoD experience with large-scale data engineering, data automation, or application development using Advana and SIPR and/or JWICS environments.
• U.S. citizenship, eligibility for classified-information access, and an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS architecture.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in DoD operating environments.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and data management for DoD and commercial systems.
