Senior Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: US, Remote. The company is 100% remote and requires a minimum 25 Mbps consumer-grade broadband connection.

Base salary: $199,750–$235,000 annually, plus equity in the form of stock options for full-time roles.

hirify.global is a remote cybersecurity product company developing NodeZero, a platform for autonomous penetration testing and security assessment operations.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate event-driven services that process pentest telemetry in real time through streaming, storage, schema evolution, and replayable processing.
• Own complex platform rework end to end, from system design and implementation through rollout and long-term operation.
• Translate batch-era finding enrichment, attack path analysis, host and identity correlation, and reporting logic into streaming-friendly designs.
• Solve distributed systems and data modeling challenges involving large pentest datasets, host identity, and real-time findings at enterprise scale.
• Establish operational excellence through SLOs, instrumentation, alerting, on-call, and incident response.
• Raise engineering quality through design reviews, technical writing, API contracts, decision records, and collaboration with platform and attack-engineering teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go, with experience working in large-scale codebases.
• Production experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query performance at scale.
• Experience operating services in AWS or a comparable cloud using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Production experience with observability tools such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures or streaming platforms such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink.
• Experience designing distributed systems at scale.
• Experience migrating a live batch system to streaming or decomposing a live monolith into services.
• Neo4j and graph data modeling experience, along with SQL.
• Background in cybersecurity, pentesting, or vulnerability management, and experience with encryption patterns such as envelope encryption and KMS.
