Director (Capital Markets Services)

Location: New York, United States. Client-facing work requires flexibility to work onsite with clients and teams, with travel averaging up to 30% and potentially increasing during critical transaction milestones.

Salary: $201.5K–$288.5K per year, with equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead complex IPO, de-SPAC, capital markets, and accounting advisory engagements from readiness through execution and public-company transition.
• Conduct IPO readiness assessments and develop practical execution plans, priorities, and timelines.
• Lead accounting and financial reporting workstreams for S-1 and S-4 filings, PCAOB requirements, quarterization, spin-offs, securities transactions, and other complex events.
• Advise clients on transaction accounting matters, including business combinations, carve-outs, debt and equity instruments, revenue recognition, leases, restructurings, and GAAP conversions.
• Coordinate CFOs, Controllers, client management, underwriters, legal counsel, auditors, and hirify.global advisory teams to resolve issues and maintain delivery momentum.
• Scope engagements, manage workplans and economics, develop teams, support business development, and build capital markets relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 10 or more years of relevant public accounting, accounting advisory, transaction advisory, or consulting experience.
• Strong technical accounting foundation with advanced US GAAP knowledge and experience with SEC and PCAOB requirements, including Regulation S-X and Article 11 pro forma financial information.
• Experience with SEC reporting and registration statements, including S-1, S-4, 10-K, and 10-Q filings, SEC pre-clearance submissions, and comment letter responses.
• Significant client-facing experience leading complex engagements and working with CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, senior executives, and PE sponsors.
• Experience with IPOs, de-SPAC transactions, M&A, carve-outs, or other complex capital markets transactions; CPA is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• IFRS experience.
• Established relationships with Nasdaq, NYSE, law firms, investment banks, financial printers, audit firms, and other transaction advisors.
